Create your website folder in Finder

Your website begins as an ordinary folder on your Mac. Give each project its own folder so its files stay together.

Let’s do this

    In Finder

    Open Finder

    Click the blue smiling face in the Dock. In the top menu choose Go, then Home. This opens your own user folder. You can also press Shift + Command + H.

    Create a place for your projects

    Choose File, then New Folder, or press Shift + Command + N. Name it Websites. Press Return to finish the name, then double-click the folder to open it. If you already have a suitable local projects folder, use that.

    Make the website’s own folder

    Inside Websites, create another folder called little-garden, or a short version of your project name using lowercase letters and hyphens. Open it. It should be empty if this is a new project. Avoid creating it inside a different app’s folder.

    Keep this Finder window open

    You will select this exact folder in Codex or Claude Code next. To see its location, choose View, then Show Path Bar. Your path should end with Websites/little-garden. Home means your own user folder, not a website home page.
