Add your own domain when you want one

   Decide whether you need to buy a name

   Keep pages.dev while learning. A custom name can make a business site easier to remember. Domain registration pays for the name; hosting serves the files. Buying a name does not automatically create a website.

   In Cloudflare

   Compare the first year and renewal

   Open Cloudflare Domain Registration and search for your name. Cloudflare Registrar offers supported endings at cost, without its own markup. Check the actual checkout total, tax and renewal amount. Some first-year discounts elsewhere renew at a much higher price. Cloudflare Registrar requires Cloudflare nameservers.

   In Cloudflare

   Register only when you are ready

   Check spelling carefully, enter your own registrant details, review renewal settings and complete payment yourself. Keep a recovery method for the account and a valid payment method if using automatic renewal. If you already own a name, follow the existing-domain instructions instead of buying another.

   In Cloudflare

   Attach the domain to your Pages project

   Open Workers & Pages, choose the working Pages project, then Custom domains and Set up a custom domain. Enter the name and follow the DNS steps. For a root domain such as littlegarden.com, its DNS zone must be on Cloudflare. With a Cloudflare-registered domain, that is already the normal arrangement.

   In your browser

   Check the secure address

   Wait for the domain and certificate to become active. Visit the https address in a private window and on your phone. If you want both the root name and www, add and test both through the supported setup and choose one to redirect to the other.
